XP CMD: Obtaining the Short 8.3 Filename From a Long Filename?

investment properties Add comments
I am performing some registry editing and I was wondering if there is a command or switch in XP’s command prompt, or any sort of way where I can retrieve the short 8.3 filename from a long filename in Windows XP? What i’m refering to is: C:\PROGRA~1\YADADA~1\ The reason is because I have a few sub folders which has the same first six characters and figuring which is which is tricky; and I need to change some registry values to reflect this.
